Bethany depends on a partnership with our church sponsors and the
community at large. We are most grateful for their financial gifts which
benefit our residents.
This support is critical as Bethany’s revenues
are determined mostly
by state-mandated formulas. The North Dakota reimbursement system
and Medicaid generally cover the direct cost of delivering care to our
residents. Special services, facility improvements and many
quality-of-life programs must be underwritten by those who value
Bethany's mission.
Several bequests, charitable gift annuity
contracts and charitable trusts
have favored Bethany Homes over the years. The Foundation has
provided significant operational funding for Bethany during that time.
We are privileged to have a wide base of support, due in great
measure to the quality of care delivered by our staff.
Bethany Homes, Inc. (Foundation) maintains
its focus on "planned giving"
as a means toward building stability through a significant endowment.
Planned gifts take the form of bequests under will, charitable gift annuities,
charitable remainder trusts, insurance contracts, etc.
As of December 31, 2004, 148 donors have qualified for
inscription on the TREE OF LIFE, prominently displayed
outside the Mavis Whiting Chapel.
All cash gifts of $5,000 or more, as well
as the face value
of similar-sized noncash gifts qualify on a cumulative basis.
Deferred lifetime gifts in the form of charitable gift annuities
and irrevocable charitable trusts are included at their full face value.
The inscriptions on the Tree of Life do
not include the support
from our corporate church sponsors. We are also very grateful
for these special gifts.
Each year, more and more friends are
finding that memorial and
honor gifts are a meaningful and lasting tribute to a friend or loved
one they wish to honor.
Through the thoughtfulness and concern expressed with a memorial
or honor gift, Bethany Homes will be able to purchase equipment
and provide programs and services to our residents. As the donor,
you have the option of designating the use of
the gift or permitting
Bethany to use the funds where the need is the greatest.
To make a gift to memorialize a loved one who has passed away
or an honor gift to recognize birthdays, anniversaries or other special
events, complete the attached gift form and mail it with your gift to
